Pipestone, Minnesota -- Molester Fossum, 98, died Monday, March 27th 2000, at the Good Samaritan Village in Pipestone. Molester Leraas was born Nov. 22nd 1901, in Lincoln Coounty. She moved with her family to Minnesota, where she grew up and attended schools. She returned with her family to Canton, where she attended high school. She then attended the Canton Lutheran Normal School and General Beadle Teachers College in Madison. She worked as a rural teacher in Lincoln County is. She married Otto Fossum on Dec. 2nd 1925, in Canton. The couple lived on a farm in the area for thirty-five years. They retired from farming and moved into Canton in 1963. They moved to Pipestone Minnesota, in 1986, to be closer to their daughter. Her husband died in 1993. She became a resident at the Good to Samaritan Village in 1997. She was a member of the Lands Lutheran church and rural Hudson where she taught Sunday and Bible school. She served as a Sunday school superintendent at one time. She was also active in the Ladies get paid and choir. She was a member of the Canton Lutheran church, active in the ALC Women and Mission Board. She was also a member of the Sounds of Norway and Senior Citizens. In Pipestone she was a member of the First Lutheran church and the Pipestone Senior Citizens. Survivors include her four daughters: Beverly Sendelbach of Pipestone, Audrey Wedul of Sun City West Arizona, Marilyn Thompson of Tempe Arizona, and Margaret Germain of Winnebago Minnesota.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services began at 10 AM Saturday at the Good Samaritan Village Chapel in Pipestone. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. An additional funeral service begins at 2 PM Saturday at the Canton Lutheran church in Canton with burial in Lands Lutheran Cemetery and rural Hudson. Visitation for the second service begins at 1 PM Saturday at the church. The Hartquist Funeral Chapel in Pipestone City charge arrangements.
