‎[Leraas.FTW]‎

Mollie ‎(Marie)‎ was critically ill with pneumonia. her, life despaired of, at the age of six, but God spared her. Mother. Who had an aptitude for working with the sick nursed her back to health, although it was a long time before she fully recovered.

Mollie taught rural school near Herman, Hoffman, Lake Park and Sacred Heart, Minnesota around 1912 - 1918. She also worked as a clerk in several smaller stores in Minneapolis after which she again took up teaching, This time in schools in the vicinity of Hills, Minnesota. Following this she worked for several years in Sioux City, Iowa and in Minneapolis. Around 1940 - 1945 she was employed as housekeeper for Pastor Hoverstad of Minneapolis until his death. A few years following this she suffered a series of light strokes and had to discontinue work. In 1954 she went to live at Pioneer Memorial Home at Fergus Falls. The strokes she suffered frequently caused her condition to become such that she required mental therapy so she was moved to the State Hospital. in Fergus Falls for treatment. Later she moved back to Pioneer but in 1957 she suffered a relapse - caused by more strokes, leaving her quite paralyzed and in need of continued therapy so she is now cared for at State Hospital ‎(1960)‎.
